Week 10: Nature.
Ideas: Bring something from nature, animals, minerals, plants, etc.
Or what do you like to do in nature? How does it make you feel? Nature art, design, play…

Week 11: A symbol of Easter.

Congratulations Receptions on participating in your first Sports Day. There was lots of persistence, cooperation and fun! Thanks to all the adult visitors for helping out, it’s a big day and all the children are to be proud for having a go.

Sharing Week 9:
Numbers, numbers everywhere. Please bring something that uses numbers. Eg a timer, story book, song, clock, picture you have drawn, etc.
You could go on a number hunt around your house.

Week 10:
Student-led conferences begin after school throughout Week 10.
This opportunity is for your child to talk about their learning journey so far at school!
Thank you to those families who have already followed the online process to book a time. Please see me asap if you have misplaced the conference booking form.

Week 7:
Sharing: My long Weekend.

Reminder- next Wednesday 15th March is our first R/1 Assembly in the hall. We look forward to sharing some learning songs with the other classes.

Week 8:
Sharing: Something that represents another country/culture.

Tuesday 21st March is Harmony day. Please wear the colour Orange to school.
This day in particular is a time to think about multicultural Australia, harmony, teamwork and getting along with others. We are so lucky to live in a country with people who have diverse backgrounds and beliefs. Together we are Australia.

Friday 24th March is Sports Day.
Families are most welcome to attend.
Children will stay with their teacher for the events. Please kiss and drop us at the bag room that morning- the classroom won’t fit all of the visitors sorry!
We will meet you at the bottom court/oval area for a welcome march and health hustle before the days’ events. More information to come.

Wow! What a week- well done to all the children for surviving the heat!

Week 6:

No Sharing (a rest week)

Monday 6th Mar- I will be at a training day, investigating more about the Inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning.
This is the first in a series of workshops a group of teachers from Craigburn and I will attend throughout the year.
Lana Dzunko will have the class on Monday. Lana is a wonderful educator who used to work full time at Craigburn PS.
The children look forward to a great day of new experiences with a different teacher.

Reminder- next Friday 10th Mar is a student-free day.

Sharing Week 5: Favourite Picture Fiction Book.

Week 4 Sharing:
Patterns, patterns everywhere!
Go on a pattern hunt, bring something that has a repeating pattern.
It might be with colours, objects, numbers or sounds! (Music has lots of patterns)

Today we used the ‘Pocket Phonics’ App to practice our reading.
We say the sound, write the sound and then start to make simple words e.g as, sat, sit, pat.

This afternoon we enjoyed meeting our big buddies for the first time.

We look forward to learning with them this year.

What a gorgeous afternoon to spend outside for Reception Shared Play. We loved playing with our friends from rooms 21 and 22 too! 😀☀️👫
